From Companion to Gaelic Scotland – “Born in Skye; came to Glasgow c. 1890. Novelist, poet, publicist. By 1907 Robertson had founded the weekly illustrated paper St Mungo. Probably at Ruaraidh Erskine of Mar’s suggestion, he adapted the story ‘Black Appin’ which had appeared in St Mungo; the first three installments of his novel An t-Ogha Mór appeared in the periodical An Sgeulaiche (1909–10). The complete novel appeared in 1913. While President of An Comunn Gaidhealach in 1924 he went to America to promote, unsuccessfully, a Gaelic university in Iona. While in London on business (1927–45), he published Children of the Fore-World, essays on Celtic notabilities, (1933), Orain na Céilidh and Cnoc an Fhradhairc (1940), including the long title poem, a philosophical pastoral.”
